Mr. Michael

To ask the Secretary of State for Health (1) how many prescriptions have been issued in each of the last five years in each(a) region, (b) district and (c) family practitioner committee area;

(2) what proportion of prescriptions issued in each (a) region, (b) district and (c) family practitioner committee area has been presented and made up in each of the last five years.

Information on the number of prescriptions issued is not collected centrally. However, the available information, which relates to the number of prescription items dispensed in each family practitioner committee area, is given in the table:
