§ Mrs. Virginia BottomleyHospital consultants are required to have job plans (formerly referred to as job descriptions) setting out their main duties and work programmes, including their fixed commitments, in the NHS, in order to make clear what is expected of them. General managers arc responsible for ensuring that job plans are agreed, reviewed annually, and implemented.
