asked Her Majesty's Government:

To give details of the projects so far approved in each of the eligible countries under the Know-How Fund, stating the amounts so far spent and to be spent; and what is the balance which is available to the fund for the current and next financial years.

Our total budget for 1991–92 is £36 million, which we expect to spend in full. The budget for 1992–93 has been increased to £46 million, which again we would hope to spend in full.

As to the projects so far approved for each country, I refer to the Answers given by my right honourable friend the Minister for Overseas Development in the other place to the honourable members for Battersea (Mr. Bowis) on 14th March 1990 at col. 236, for Ellesmere Port and Neston (Dr. Woodcock) on 13th June 1990 at col. 213, for Daventry (Mr. Boswell) and for Hazel Grove (Sir T. Arnold) on 2nd July 1990 at col. 417, for Nottingham North (Mr. Allen) on 17th October 1990 at col. 813, and for Montgomery (Mr. Carlile) on 10th December 1990 at col. 281. A list of the additional activities appproved since then under the Know-How Fund has been placed in the House Library.
