asked Her Majesty's Government:
What was the average administrative cost to the benefit agency of appeals to a social security appeal tribunal during the quarter ending 31st December 1991.

The administration of income support is a matter for Mr. Michael Bichard, the chief executive of the benefits agency. He will write to the noble Countess and copies will be placed in the Library and the Public Information Office.
