Mr. McNamara

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many people claiming compensation under the scheme of compensation for loss of employment through civil unrest were refused compensation in each year since 1970 because they had not been employed for more than two years; and what percentage they represent of(a) the number claiming compensation and (b) the number of those workers whose claims were disallowed.

It is only possible to provide the information requested from 1987 as relevant records prior to that year have not been retained. The available information is given in the table.
