£ million 1987–88 0.471 1988–89 1.140 1989–90 0.731 1990–91 1.530 1991–92 1.278 So far this financial year we have spent £.1.075 million. Our aid is mainly in the form of English language teaching, training awards, small projects, electoral assistance and emergency relief; £0.5 million has been pledged for the repatriation of Angolan refugees.
The security situation is affecting our work. At present we have no long-term aid personnel in Angola and do not contemplate sending any, other than for relief work, until the security situation improves.
