§ Mr. Tony BanksTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what efforts are being made by his Department to ascertain the whereabouts and welfare of Mullai Marimuthu, off 67 Lund point, Stratford, E15, currently held against her will in Madurai, Tamil Nadu.
§ Mr. Lennox-BoydMullai Marimuthu is staying at her uncle's house in Madurai. A consular officer had planned to visit Madurai on 10 December to meet the British community, including Marimuthu. However, all flights in Tamil Nadu have been cancelled because of current disturbances. A consular official will visit Madurai as soon as practicable.
