Mr. Tony Banks

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what monitoring his Department undertakes of incidents of death and injury to wildlife in the Falklands caused by mines and other warlike devices left over from the war.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

None. Injuries to wildlife caused by mines and other warlike devices are minimal. Most wildlife is too light to set off mines.
