HC Deb 10 December 1992 vol 215 c761W
Mr. Barry Jones

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales (1) if he will make a statement on traffic blight on Aston hill, Clwyd;

(2) if he will commission an urgent study of traffic queues on the A494 Aston hill, Clwyd.

Sir Wyn Roberts

An extensive traffic study of the north-east Clwyd area, a summary of which was sent to the hon. Gentleman in February 1992, identified the need to improve a number of sections of trunk road in the area to accommodate anticipated increases in traffic growth. On this basis, an improvement scheme for the A494 from the River Dee to Ewloe, including Aston hill, was introduced into the roads programme for Wales to alleviate traffic problems along this route.

At the present time, essential maintenance works are being carried out on this very busy length of trunk road and much thought has been given to traffic management measures so as to minimise delays.
