§ Mr. LangI announced the 1992–93 market-testing programme for my Departments on 28 August 1992. The market-testing of all 26 activities is due to be complete by 30 September 1993. The time taken to complete the market test will vary depending on the value of and complexity of the activity under consideration. Testing is now under way on several activities, including pay, leave and superannuation functions and the Scottish prison service works and store.
§ Mr. WilshireTo ask the Secretary of State for Scotland to which of those of his Department's activities due to be market-tested by 30 September 1993, the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 1981 and the EC acquired knights directive 77/189/EEC will apply.
§ Mr. LangThis will be determined for each activity in the light of the facts of the case and after considering legal advice.
