§ Mr. FreemanThe distribution of capital and management resources amongst the different businesses of British Rail is a matter for the board. The additional funds announced for British Rail in the autumn statement will permit the board's total investment to continue at a level considerably higher in real terms than in the 1970s and 1980s.
