To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will make a statement on what steps have been taken by his Department to implement the European Community directive 89/816/EURATOM.

Regulations which implement European Community directive 89/618/EURATOM were laid before the House on 8 December 1992. These regulations entitled "Public Information for Radiation Emergencies Regulations 1993" are expected to come into force on 1 January 1993.
