Mr. Churchill

To ask the President of the Board of Trade if he will publish the tonnages of imported coal(a) for power generation, (b) for industrial applications and (c) for domestic use, in each of the past five years for which figures are available.

3 These are estimated figures based on data supplied by Customs and Excise. The use of which the coal is to be put is not recorded at the time the coal is imported, but assumptions on who uses particular types of coal have been used to allocate imports to the industrial and domestic sectors.
