§ Mr. McLoughlinBetween 1982 and 1992 some 4,380 civil service posts from the Department were relocated to other parts of the United Kingdom. In the last five years 1,504 posts were transferred: 938 to Sheffield; 400 to Runcorn; 85 to Aberdeen; 56 to Merseyside and 25 to Bootle. In the previous five years 2,877 posts were moved: 1,877 to Sheffield and 1,000 to Bootle.
