To ask the Secretary of State for Wales how much has been spent in Wales in each year since 1979 on hospital construction programmes.

The information in the form requested is not available but the amount of capital expended on hospital building schemes—inclusive of land purchase, design costs and plant and equipment—in the financial years 1979–80 to 1990–91 was as follows:
