To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland (1) when Aberdeen sheriff court will be equipped with closed circuit television and video recording equipment for use in trials;

(2) how many sheriff courts in Scotland have (a) closed circuit television and (b) video recording equipment for use in trials.

Member for Greenock and Port Glasgow (Dr. Godman) on 17 November at column 377 about closed circuit television links for child witnesses. Video playback equipment is provided by the party which wishes to use video material in evidence.
