§ Mr. Douglas HoggFollowing the unanimous adoption of Security Council Resolution 809, the United Kingdom permanent representative has been in touch with the United Nations Secretary-General to offer our support and to encourage him to redouble his efforts with both parties to bring about a referendum by the end of the year. The Secretary-General's special representative, Yaqub Khan, is currently visiting the region.
