To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will publish a table showing(a) the average per capita subsidy and (b) the average cost to the pupil of school meals in each regional authority in Scotland in each year since 1975; and if he will make a statement.

There is no specific subsidy given to regional authorities to defray the cost of providing school meals. Grant-aided expenditure given to regional authorities contains an element of funding sufficient for
