HC Deb 22 October 1991 vol 196 cc537-8W
Mr. John D. Taylor

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many persons in Northern Ireland are employed by the International Fund for Ireland; and whether the organisation is registered with the Fair Employment Commission.

Dr. Mawhinney

As provided for in article 10 of the agreement establishing the International Fund for Ireland the secretariat of the fund is provided jointly by the two Governments. Within Northern Ireland a total of 11 staff have been seconded from the Department of Finance and Personnel to work for the fund. Given that the fund does not directly employ staff, it would not be appropriate for it to be registered with the Fair Employment Commission.
