To ask the Secretary of State for Employment what initiatives his Department has undertaken in Cornwall to cut unemployment levels.

Mr. Jackson

The Department has a wide range of training, enterprise, employment and other measures, available in Cornwall as elsewhere, to help unemployed people and employers.

Devon and Cornwall training and enterprise council and the department's Employment Service are running a number of special initiatives in the county, designed to meet particular local needs.
