HL Deb 21 October 1991 vol 531 c125WA
Lord Jenkins of Putney

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they were aware at the time of the transactions by the then Secretary of State for Trade and Industry which are the subject of current hearings at the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg and, if so, why they allowed them to proceed.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Trade and Industry (Lord Reay)

It would be quite inappropriate for me to comment on British Aerospace's appeal against the Commission decision of 17th July 1990 on the sale of Rover Group, to which I assume the Question refers.
