§ Mrs. ChalkerThe Government, in welcoming the Commission of Inquiry established by the President of Indonesia, have indicated that they wish to see the investigation carried out promptly, fully and fairly. We have urged that those members of the armed forces responsible for the shootings in East Timor earlier this month should be brought on trial. Together with our Community partners, we will consider the position, including that on aid, in the light of the written report of the commission of inquiry.
