§ Mr. Yeo[holding answer 21 November 1991]: My Department received some 60 responses to the consultation paper on short-term leasing issued on 3 May 1991, including 50 from local authorities or their associations. Following this consultation exercise, the Minister for Housing announced decisions on the future of short-term leasing in answer to a written parliamentary question on 23 May, including the decision in principle to make available a transitional specific grant. On 14 November my Department wrote to all local housing authorities seeking views on arrangements for the distribution of the specific grant.
