Mr. Cousins

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what was the number of hospital in-patient admissions on grounds of mental or psychiatric illness in each regional health authority area for each quarterly period from 1 April 1989.

Provisional figures for the financial year 1989–90 are shown in the table. It is not possible to produce a quarterly breakdown of these figures without incurring disproportionate cost.
