§ Mr. BatisteTo ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will publish a timetable for review of the Collection and Disposal of Waste Regulations 1988 and the subsequent implementation of part II of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 to take into account an exception for Scotland equivalent to regulation 9(1) and schedule 6 case 13 to the 1988 regulations.
§ Lord James Douglas-HamiltonWe will undertake consultations on new regulations on waste disposal licensing prior to the implementation of the licensing provisions of part II of the 1990 Act. These provisions are currently scheduled for implementation throughout Great Britain on 1 April 1993. However this timetable will be reviewed in the light of the proposal to set up new environment agencies, for Scotland and for England and Wales, which will assume responsibility for waste regulation.
