HC Deb 18 November 1991 vol 199 c27W
32. Mr. Tony Lloyd

To ask the Attorney-General if he will make a statement on the length of the waiting time for the hearing of immigration cases.

The Attorney-General

It is estimated that at present an average appeal to an adjudicator is determined within five to 12 months of its receipt by the immigration appellate authorities. This includes the time taken by the parties themselves to prepare for the hearing, which is typically between two and six months.
