§ 24. Mr. RathboneTo ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what encouragement is being given to encourage the study of engineering in further education institutions in the Province.
§ Dr. MawhinneyThe Department of Education encourages further education colleges to provide courses which meet the identified training needs of Northern Ireland industry, including the engineering sector. Engineering courses at colleges have been identified by the Department as a priority area for the allocation of additional resources for teachers, capital equipment and staff development.
