§ Mr. BaldryProgress on the water companies' improvement programmes was checked in the course of the drinking water inspectorate's first round of annual inspections. The chief inspector concluded in his report that the programmes were found generally to be running to timetable. This is consistent with the findings of the Director General of Water Services.
