§ Mr. Michael ForsythThe Education (Schools) Bill, introduced in Parliament today, provides my right hon. Friend with powers to make regulations to implement elements of the parents charter including information about schools and about progress of pupils.
My right hon. Friend will consider in due course the scope and extent of the matters on which he should prescribe under these and other powers to give effect to the commitments in the parents charter, including the requirements to be placed on independent schools.
