Mr. Galbraith

To ask the Secretary of State for Health (1) if he will list the contracts between King's College hospital, London, and St. Mary's hospital, London, for liver transplantation with non-United Kingdom residents;

(2) if he will give to date the number of private liver transplants undertaken at King's College hospital, London, and St. Mary's hospital, London.

The management of King's College hospital is the responsibility of Camberwell health authority and the management of St. Mary's hospital is the responsibility of Parkside health authority. The hon. To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will give to date the number of national health service patients in whom it has not been possible to perform a liver transplant due to lack of intensive care facilities, and in which the liver subsequently went to a private non-United Kingdom resident.
