§ Mrs. Virginia BottomleySir Bernard Tomlinson, who has been appointed to advise my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State on the development of London health services, has been given a wide-ranging remit to look at the provision of health care, the organisation and provision of undergraduate medical teaching, postgraduate medical education and research and development. If, in the course of his investigation, issues arise which have implications for midwifery education, he would be free to offer advice on this area.
§ Ms. HarmanTo ask the Secretary of State for Health if the concern expressed in the eighth report of the Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors and Professions allied to Medicine Review Body with regard to regional discrepancies in the allocation of clinical grades to posts, particularly in midwifery, is being addressed in his Department's evidence to the forthcoming review body report.
