To ask the Attorney-General if he has any proposals to increase the staff numbers in Crown courts.

The Attorney-General

The Lord Chancellor presently intends to increase staff numbers in the Crown Court during 1991–92 by approximately 62 above those in post as at 1 April 1991. Staffing levels in the courts are fixed in relation to current and anticipated workload.
