§ Mr. ChopeThe letter was received in my Department on 14 February. It made a number of helpful suggestions for raising public awareness about the law on rear seat belt wearing by children which came into force on 1 September 1989 and described what the group itself is doing locally to achieve this. The reply explained the publicity which the Department, and some commercial organisations, gave to introduction of the law and the arrangements for providing information about it subsequently. It also offered comments on the text of a publicity leaflet produced by the group.
