HC Deb 13 May 1991 vol 191 cc35-6W
Mr. Flynn

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what computer and data collection resources have been offered to the Soviet authorities since May 1986 to assist the epidemiological and demographic health studies of people contaminated with fall-out from the Chernobyl accident.

Mr. Dorrell

United Kingdom scientists are participating in various international activities, under the auspices of bodies such as the World Health Organisation—WHO—the International Atomic Energy Agency, and the European Community, aimed at monitoring and mitigating the consequences of the Chernobyl accident. The United Kingdom is actively discussing with other WHO member states in Europe what further actions can be taken.
