HC Deb 09 May 1991 vol 190 c580W
Mr. McGrady

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what measures he will take to improve the budgetary position of the Southern health and social services board in this current financial year.

Mr. Hanley

The Southern board has been allocated over £125 million in this financial year, an increase of £10.5 million. It will receive in addition a share of central money reserved for community care and have available the proceeds of its own cost improvements. It is for the board to formulate its operational plan for the use of these substantial resources in line with its declared priorities.
