§ Mrs. Virginia BottomleyA total of 130 hospitals and other units have expressed interest in trust status from April 1992. The full list has been placed in the Library. The following 10 units are located within the Mersey Regional Health Authority's boundaries:
- Aintree Hospitals (Walton and Fazakerly)
- 1Liverpool Community and Priority Services
- Liverpool Obstetrics and Gynaecology Unit
- Macclesfield Acute Services
- Macclesfield Community and Mental Health Services
- 1Mersey Regional Ambulance Services
- Mersey Regional Centre for Radiotherapy and Oncology
- 1Mersey Regional Centre for Neurosciences
- 1St. Helens and Knowsley Community Unit
- 1Southport Acute Unit.
- 1 Formal applications already received.
Note: Since the announcement in December the units in Macclesfield have decided to work to a slower timetable.
