HC Deb 08 May 1991 vol 190 c474W
Mr. Harry Greenway

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what is the precise nature of the work currently being undertaken on the central reservation of the A40 in the London borough of Ealing; when he expects it to be completed; what the final cost will be; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Chope

The work currently under way on the A40 Western avenue in the London borough of Ealing entails the repair and replacement of central reserve safety fencing and to bring it up to the latest departmental standards. At the same time, existing emergency crossover points are being closed permanently on road safety grounds and the street lighting is being improved.

Work is scheduled for completion by the middle of May at an estimated cost of £377,000.
