To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, pursuant to his answers to the hon. Member for Glasgow, Central (Mr. Watson),Official Report, 24 April, column 453, if, during his visit to Kuwait, he will make urgent representations against the proposed show trials of Palestinians followed by public hangings or firing squads; and if he will make a statement.

My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs will reiterate to the Kuwaiti authorities the importance of ensuring that all residents of Kuwait are treated fairly and humanely and in accordance with the law and with their fundamental human rights.
