Member for Caithness and Sutherland of 24 April,Official Report, columns 455–6, whether he will give details of the specific complaints expressed by the United Nations Committee on Human Rights during the presentation of the United Kingdom's third periodic report on 1, 2 and 3 April.
§ Mr. Lennox-BoydWe have yet to receive the summary record of the human rights committee's proceedings. As soon as it is available, copies will be placed in the Library of the House.
I can inform the hon. Member, however, that the committee questioned our delegation in detail on a wide range of issues in the United Kingdom and dependent territories. It was concerned in particular with issues relating to Northern Ireland, Hong Kong, the optional protocol to the international covenant on civil and political rights and the incorporation of the covenant into domestic legislation.
