HC Deb 03 May 1991 vol 190 c360W
Mr. Dobson

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment, if he will list the actions he has taken since the gas surge in Royston on 8 March in order to prevent a recurrence of this event.

Mr. Forth

[pursuant to his reply, 18 April, column 221]:I regret that the answer contained an incorrect statement in that it said that British Gas had replaced approximately 4,000 metres of pipeline. The correct information is as follows: Inspectors from the Health and Safety Executive are carrying out a full investigation into the gas incident in Royston on 8 March. HSE will decide what action. if any, is appropriate when the investigation is completed. I understand that British Gas has replaced approximately 4,000 gas meters as a result of the incident.
