HC Deb 02 May 1991 vol 190 cc287-8W
Mr. Dobson

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what was the total sum paid out in fees by the Forestry Commission to management consultants in 1979–80 and in each following year; and what is his estimate for 1990–91 and budget for 1991–92.

Mr. Michael Forsyth

The Forestry Commission does not keep a separate record of fees paid to consultants. A general search of the relevant files has identified only one occasion when consultants were employed to advise on management questions. That was in 1984, at a cost of £17,000. The commission has no current plans to employ management consultants.
