To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what is his estimate of the specific grant received by each local authority in respect of(a) community charge rebate and (b) transitional relief for the year 1990–91.

Mr. Key

I am arranging for the available information for 1990–91 to be placed in the Library of the House. I shall be in a position to publish a final figure for the amount of transitional relief given when local authorities submit their final grant claims later this year.
