To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what was the non-oil balance of payments in each year since 1979 at 1990 prices.

Information from which the balance of trade in non-oil goods at 1990 prices may be derived can be found in table A7 of the Monthly Review of External Trade Statistics and its mid-year supplement, available in the Library of the House, or on the Central Statistical Office database which may also be accessed through the Library.
