§ Mr. MichaelTo ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science what is his policy in regard to the development of the university of Wales and its constituent colleges in the light of the likely economic and cultural needs of the people of Wales into the next century.
§ Mr. Alan HowarthIt is for each institution to plan its own development in the light of its perception both of national and other demands and of its abilities to respond to these, consistent with its general mission. The distribution of public funding in support of these plans is a matter for the Universities Funding Council.
