Mr. Robin Cook

To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will give the total annual expenditure, in cash and adjusted for changes in input unit costs, on general medical services for each family health authority in each year since 1985.

Mr. Dorrell

The total annual expenditure on general medical services—GMS—in cash and adjusted by the GMS service inflation factor has been placed in the Library. Details are provided for each family health services authority and aggregated at regional health authority and national level.
