To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will make a statement on his plans for industry to encourage better community relations.

The Government believe that the business sector can play an important role in encouraging community relations in Northern Ireland, although they do not wish to be prescriptive or directive. Therefore, as a first step, I intend having early meetings with business people to explore with them how they could contribute to promoting greater harmony within the work force and the wider community.
