§ Lord James Douglas-Hamilton[holding answer 11 March 1991]: We shall shortly be issuing a circular to local authorities on the changes being made to the General Development Order, including the new requirement for the planning authorities to consult the relevant waste disposal authority about development within 250 m of a landfill site. Planning advice note 33 already urges local authorities to consult waste disposal authorities about proposed development on land which may be contaminated.
