§ Mr. TrippierNo. There are already effective safeguards in respect of the import of hazardous waste. Under the Transfrontier Shipment of Hazardous Waste Regulations 1988 a disposer may not accept an import of hazardous waste unless his disposal authority has approved the dispatch of the waste from the country of production.
