§ Mr. FlynnTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what assessment has been made of the benefits accruing to the United Kingdom from the allocation to the European Commission's joint research centre at Ispra as a supplement to the EC's environment research budget 1990 to 1994.
§ Mr. BaldryThe activities of the joint research centre under the third framework programme on research and technological development (1990 to 1994), including those relating to environmental matters, will be the subject of a Council decision later in the year. The Government will assess the merits of the Commission's proposal when this becomes available and will make a full contribution to the decision-making process relating to it.
