§ Mr. Home RobertsonTo ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list(a) the total number of domestic customers of Scottish Power and Scottish Hydro-Electric, respectively (b) how many of those individual customers, not including other members of their family or household, have bought shares in the recent privatisation and (c) how many of those customers have given postal addresses outside Scotland for correspondence about shares.
§ Mr. Allan Stewart[holding answer 21 June 1991]: Scottish Power plc and Scottish Hydro-Electric plc respectively have around 1,600,000 and 530,000 domestic customers. Information on the numbers of those individuals who have purchased shares in the two companies or have given correspondence addresses outwith Scotland is not separately available, since customer preference under the share offers extended to include other members of their family or household. The share registers of both companies will be publicly available from 3 July.
